The incident took place outside Hotel Maharaj on Malviya Road in Basti's Sadar Kotwali area in Uttar Pradesh, where the actress was staying during the shoot of her upcoming film under director Rajnish Mishra.

According to eyewitnesses and social media footage, and ongoing reports, Anjana Singh lost her temper when she arrived at the hotel late at night and discovered that no room had been booked for her, despite prior assurances from the film's production team. What began as a verbal exchange inside the hotel lobby soon spilled onto the street, where passersby captured an angry Anjana confronting production manager Anurag Mishra.

In a detailed interview following the incident, Anjana Singh offered her side of the story. She mentioned that she had earlier asked the production unit to secure a new hotel room before she could shift her belongings and head to the film set. However, she claimed she received no update about the arrangement. Still, she went ahead with the entire day's shoot, keeping all her belongings inside the vehicle.

After the shoot ended around 12:30 am, her staff contacted Anurag Mishra to confirm the hotel booking. He assured them the room was reserved. But upon reaching the hotel, they were denied access as the staff claimed payment had not been made. When Anurag was contacted again, he allegedly got into an argument with the hotel staff but failed to resolve the issue. Eventually, the hotel manager asked the team to vacate the premises.

The situation escalated further when Anurag reportedly arrived at the location and physically assaulted one of Anjana's staff members, prompting the actress to react angrily. "My team is like my family," she said. "If someone raises a hand on them, I can't stay silent."

Anjana clarified that the individual appearing in the viral video and claiming to be the producer was not Rajnish Mishra, who is, in fact, the real producer of the film. She said she did not press charges as a personal favor to Mishra but expressed deep disappointment over the treatment she received. Later that night, Anjana requested her driver to take her to Gorakhpur to find accommodation, but the driver refused, claiming he had been ordered not to move the vehicle by the production team.
