Mumbai, April 29, 2025 - In a moving tribute to Kashmir's enduring spirit, the entertainment industry gathered at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, for Tul Palav's exclusive showcase, 'Matamaal', inspired by the rich heritage of Kashmir - an evening that celebrated resilience, hope, and the timeless power of art. More than just a showcase, it stood as a testament to the unbreakable soul of Kashmir and the enduring strength of its people in the face of adversity.
Leading voices from the entertainment world - the iconic musical duo Vishal and Rekha Bhardwaj, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, Onir, Sajid Ali and actress Saumya Tandon Simple Kaul came together to underscore a shared sentiment that the spirit of Kashmir must not be silenced by adversity. Not only this, the event saw many other prominent stylists from Mumbai. - came together to support Tul Palav's vision of preserving Kashmir's authentic culture through art and design. Their presence sent a strong message: Kashmir's rich legacy will not be overshadowed by adversity.
Curated by founder and head designer Iqra, the collection showcased restored antique Tilla embroidery and revived the lost Douv technique. By reimagining the iconic Kashmiri pheran in lightweight, breathable fabrics, the designs seamlessly merged tradition with contemporary aesthetics. The collection offered a diverse range of apparel, catering to various occasions and budgets, with prices ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹1.5 lakhs.
Reflecting on the collection, Iqra shared, "Through Tul Palav, we honor the artisans, the traditions, and the beauty that define our homeland.This collection is our humble ode to resilience, crafted with love and remembrance."
