Hania Aamir, Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Atif Aslam and Sajal Aly including other A-listed Pakistani celebrities' Instagram accounts have been blocked in India by the Indian government in the wake of the shocking Pahalgam attack on April 22, 2025.

Recently, reports of Indians using VPNs (virtual private networks) to bypass the ban and access her, including other Pak celebs, Instagram accounts went viral on the internet. On her official Instagram account, she has been receiving comments like this on her posts.

One of her fans dropped a comment on her post that read, "Hello Hania, VPN ka subscription liya hai sirf aapke liye (I have subscribed to VPN just for you). Love from India." To which, the actress replied, "Love you." She was left emotional when another user asked her not to worry as Indians are using VPN. She replied, "Ro doongi (I will cry)."

On Monday night (May 5), netizens noticed a new Instagram account with the username 'naaamtousunahogaa', which was followed by Hania Aamir's official Instagram account. To note, the new account was visible to Indian fans as well.

Soon after this, Hania Aamir came under the radar and got slammed to create a new Instagram account to allegedly please her Indian fans. Reacting to the Reddit post, one of the fans commented, "Someone please tell her that she's not getting into bollywood as long as the current government is in power in india 😭 india banned tik tok in 2019 and it's 2025. And it's still banned so will her. (sic)" Another user wrote, "SO CHEAP on her part.. As an Indian, I must say one should stand for their country as we Indians are doing..so should you all do! She has ZERO respect for herself and her country! Iska downfall pakka hai..". Meanwhile, a third user commented, "Tbh it's starting her engagement have dropped by 75.3% according to recent data

Truth Behind Hania Aamir New Instagram Account: Pak Actress's Team Issues Official Statement

Following the severe backlash over allegations of creating a new Instagram account for the Indian audience amid the India Vs Pakistan tension, Hania Aamir's team issued an official statement on the same.

Clarifying that it's a 'misunderstanding', Hania's team's official note read, as per Free Press Journal, "Attention please! There's a misunderstanding going around about Hania's new account. Some people think she's trying to reach out to India for work or securing fans there, but that's not true.Her old private account with us was deleted by Instagram, and she just made a new one with the same name. Unfortunately, it wasn't set to private yet, which led to the confusion. Let's clarify that Hania's actions have nothing to do with seeking work opportunities or following in India. We know her heart! (sic)"
