Ashish Chanchlani Ekaki journey and film audition experiences

Sharing a lighter moment in a recent interview, Ashish Chanchlani recalled facing the camera for film auditions long before Ekaki released. Ashish Chanchlani had tried for the role of Bittu in Stree and Omkar in Dangal, but those characters eventually went to Aparshakti Khurana, leading to a humorous comment from the YouTuber about this repeated outcome.

Describing the situation, Ashish Chanchlani said, "Maine, Stree ke liye audition diya tha., Aparshakti ke role ke liye. Ekbar Dangal ke liye bhi kiya tha. Maim Apar bhai ko bolta hoon, bhai apke sath kuch toh hain. Isliye meko pata chalta haina aap picture kar rahe ho toh main bhag jata hoon. Kyuki meko malum hai, maine kuch audition kiya, aap leke jaonge."

While those films moved ahead without Ashish Chanchlani, Ekaki has allowed complete creative control. Ashish Chanchlani has worked as writer, director, producer and lead actor on the series. The core Ashish Chanchlani team has reunited here, with Kunal Chhabhria as co-producer, Akash Dodeja as parallel lead, Jashan Sirwani as executive producer, and Tanish Sirwani guiding the show’s creative direction.

The writing duties on Ekaki are shared, with Grishim Nawanii co-creating the screenplay alongside Ashish Chanchlani. Line Producer Ritesh Sadhwani has handled on-ground production support for the Ashish Chanchlani project, helping manage schedules and logistics so the YouTube series could be shot and released as planned for viewers.
