Sanoj Kumar Mishra is a director who has recently been arrested after his anticipatory bail plea was rejected by the Delhi High Court. According to India Today's report, a 28-year-old woman filed an alleged rape case against Sanoj. The director was allegedly "sexually exploiting" the young woman. This woman who took legal action against the director is from Jhansi.
As per the victim's claim, she met the director Sanoj through TikTok and Instagram. The woman and Sanoj used to chat online. He then came to Jhansi railway station and asked the victim to meet him. However, she refuses to do so because of societal pressure. But Sanoj allegedly threatened her to commit suicide because she had to meet him.
On June 18, 2021, the victim met Sanoj. He took him to a resort and allegedly "raped" after giving the drugs. In the FIR, the woman mentioned that Sanoj even took her "objectionable pictures and videos" and threatened to make them public if she protested. On the pretext of marriage, Sanoj used to call the victim at different places and continued to exploit her.
An FIR was registered against Sanoj under the charges of "rape, assault, causing miscarriage, and criminal intimidation. Medical records confirmed that the woman was forced to have an abortion. After the case was filed, Sanoj approached the Delhi High Court for bail. But his bail plea was rejected, and Sanoj was taken into custody by Delhi Police.
