Ed Sheeran Bengaluru Concert: Cops Stop Iconic Singer's Impromptu Jamming Session On Street; Fans React

Ed Sheeran s Impromptu Bengaluru Performance Halted

Recently, the people of Bengaluru had a very rare opportunity of seeing famous singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran, giving an impromptu performance at Bengaluru's Church Street. This performance came as a way to practice and gel with the crowd for his upcoming performance at NICE Grounds for his tour. It seems, however, that the local police did not appreciate his unauthorised performance, which was quickly shut down by them.

Videos are now circulating online of a police officer walking up to Ed Sheeran and unplugging his microphone while he is in the middle of singing, and fans are not exactly happy about it. Many considered it to be a rare moment of bonding between the artist and his fans, and were quite disappointed to see it shut down so quickly and unceremoniously.

The Bengaluru Police Department did make a statement in response to their actions, saying that while they respect the rights and craft of artists, unauthorised gatherings can pose a great risk to people's wellbeing. An official stated "Our primary concern is the safety of both the artist and the public. Unauthorized gatherings can pose significant challenges in crowd management and security" as reported by News18.

Four-time Grammy winner Ed Sheeran has been hosting and performing at his fourth concert tour titled the '+-=÷x Tour', also known as the Mathematics Tour. As part of the tour, he has been performing in several parts of the world, with one of his most recent destinations being India. Ed Sheeran has already performed in Pune on January 30th, Hyderabad on February 2nd, and Chennai on February 5th. He is currently in Bengaluru to prep for his performance there, after which he will be performing at Shillong on February 12th, and finally Delhi on February 15th. Following those performances, Ed Sheeran will be taking the tour all the way to China.
