Ektaa R Kapoor Supports Madhya Pradesh 2.0 Film Policy Launched Alongside New Animation, Gaming & VFX Policies

Ektaa Kapoor, a renowned Indian producer, has expressed her enthusiasm for utilizing Madhya Pradesh as a filming location, inspired by the state's spiritual depth and cultural heritage. This interest comes in light of the recently launched Madhya Pradesh 2.0 Film Policy, which was showcased at the Waves Summit 2025. Kapoor's keenness signals a promising shift towards embracing the state's potential as a dynamic hub for content creation.

Highlighting the practicality of shooting within Madhya Pradesh, Kapoor pointed out the difficulties faced when filming outside Mumbai. She emphasized the tediousness of actors traveling for hours to reach shooting locations and the efficiency that could be achieved if Madhya Pradesh could provide the necessary infrastructure and studio facilities. Such a move, she suggested, could drastically change the landscape of film production by offering a viable alternative to the traditional Mumbai-centric locations.

At the summit, Kapoor made a decisive pledge, committing to shoot a portion of her upcoming projects in Madhya Pradesh. "We will promise Madhya Pradesh that out of the eight to ten films we are planning and about eighteen to nineteen shows we are planning, we will be shooting one to start off before the end of twelve months in Madhya Pradesh. We are going to do that," Kapoor promised. This statement not only underscores her support for the new film policy but also sets a tangible goal for her production team to achieve within a year.

The introduction of the MP 2.0 Film Policy is designed to attract more filmmakers by offering better incentives, simplifying permission processes, and enhancing the infrastructure for long-format storytelling. You see what White Lotus has done to locations; it gives you experiential content. If something like that can happen here, we'll have a four-year world-building plan just around the fact that this is one of the oldest cities and this is the legacy we can show the world," she expressed.
