IIT Baba In Police Custody: Viral Mahakumbh baba Abhay Singh aka IIT Baba has been centre of the limelight ever since the religious gathering took place. Recently, Abhay made headlines after he claimed to have been abused by saffron-clad men during his debate in a news channel in Noida. Now, IIT baba has further garnered attention after reports of his arrest has surfaced on social media. Several reports claimed that the Viral Baba is arrested from Jaipur hotel following an FIR against him. But why was he arrested in the first place?
Why Is Viral Mahakumbh Baba Abhay Singh Arrested From Jaipur Hotel Following FIR?
According to the reports, an FIR has been filed under the section of NDPS Act against Abhay after several narcotics including marijuana (ganja) were found in his possession. Moreover, Abhay has threatened to take his own life on a social media post. Later, police traced his location and found him in a hotel of Riddhi Siddhu area in Jaipur and he was taken into custody. After search, the authorities have found a little amount of marijuana in his possession including other narcotics. He was later taken to the police station for further questioning, however, later, he was released after a warning from the police.
Abhay has opened up on having marijuana possession and said, "This is very common in India. Many people consumed marijuana at the Kumbh Mela-why not arrest them all?" Talking about the police intervention, "Someone informed the police that I was going to commit suicide, so they came here. I only had a small quantity of 'prasad' (marijuana). Now, let's see what they do," he said.
On the other hand, DCP South Digant Anand stated that Shipra Path Police station recieved information that a man named Abhay Singh was attempting suicide at Hotel Park Classic, "To verify the report, Station House Officer (SHO) Rajendra Godara, along with a police team, arrived at the scene and found Abhay Singh, son of Karan Singh, a 35-year-old resident of 585/18, Subhash Nagar, Jhajjar, Haryana, at the hotel. When informed about the police control room's report and questioned about the incident, Abhay Singh took out a packet of ganja (marijuana) from his possession and stated that he had consumed it. He further claimed that he was unaware of any information he may have given under the influence of the drug," he said.
