India's Got Latent Row: Ranveer Allahbadia has been all over the headlines lately ever since he appeared on Samay Raina's India's Got Latent. The renowned YouTuber got mired in controversy over his 'sex with parents joke' and has received immense backlash. Not just the episode was pulled down from YouTube, FIRs have also been registered against Ranveer Allahbadia and he has been massively criticised across the nation. But did you know, before Ranveer Allahbadia, another YouTuber had cracked a similar joke to one of Varun Dhawan's co-star?
We are talking about Kanan Gill who went on to ask the same controversial joke to Lauren Gottlieb who had shared the screen in Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor in ABCD 2. This happened during an interview in 2015 wherein Lauren appeared with actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani to promote their film Welcome To Karachi. Interestingly, netizens have dug out the old viral video of Kanan Gill asking the controversial question to Lauren and Jackky and the video is breaking the internet amid Ranveer Allahbadia's India's Got Latent controversy

Taking to the comment section, netizens have been brimming with opinion. An Instagram user wrote, "Well 2015 us were more chill than 2025 us". Another user commented, "We didn't have cheap internet back then". One of the users also wrote, "Coz nobody knew this show in 2015 & Samay Raina's show is quite popular amongst people in their teenage & 20s". Meanwhile, Ranveer issued an apology following the backlash over the controversial India's Got Latent episode and called it a "lapse in judgement." He said, "I'm just here for an apology. I personally had a lapse in judgment. It wasn't cool on my part. The podcast is watched by people of all ages. I don't want to be the kind of person that takes that responsibility lightly, and family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect."
