Mary Kom-K Onler Divorce Confirmed: Boxer-turned-politician Mary Kom has officially confirmed her divorce with husband K Onler after almost 20 years of marriage. Speculations about their marriage hitting a rock bottom have been doing rounds for a while. For those unversed, Mary Kom fell in love with footballer K Onler and tied the knot in 2005, and welcomed three sons. Later in 2018, the couple adopted a daughter named Merilyn.

On Wednesday (April 30), the Olympic boxer confirmed her separation with K Onler with an official statement. Through an official statement, issued by her advocate, Mary Kom revealed that she and her former husband K Onler (Karung Onkholer) got legally divorced on December 20, 2023, and it was a mutual divorce.

Mary Kom's divorce announcement comes days after rumours of her affair with her business associate, Hitesh Choudhary, created a stir online. Dismissing the ongoing link-up speculations, the boxing legend revealed that her divorce with K Onler had been in place for nearly 2 years.

The official legal notice, issued by the 42-year-old boxing champion Mary Kom's advocate, read, "In the light of these speculative and incorrect media reports, I wish to issue the following clarifications: Ms. M.C. Mary Kom and Mr. Onkholer (Onler) Kom are no longer married and they have finalized their divorce by mutual consent under KOM CUSTOMARY LAW on December 20 2023, in the presence of both family members and leaders of the clan as the adjudicating authorities. (sic)"

"The rumours regarding my client's relationship involvement with Mr. Hitesh Choudhary or being in a relationship with another boxer's husband, are categorically denied and should not be propagated by any media platform, (sic)" the statement added.

"As for the details of their past marriage, my client states that the aforesaid speculations, assertions are denied being wrong and incorrect. Any further than this, my client does not wish to state or comment, as this is a matter of the past. She has since moved on with her life positively, in accordance with the mutual agreement signed thereof, (sic)" the notice continued.

"Over the past two years, my client has been going through a deeply challenging time in her personal life, especially with her ex-husband. During this difficult hour, my client requests her friends, fans, and well-wishers to kindly give her the space and privacy she needs to navigate this difficult time. This notice serves as a formal request for all media entities, in all forms, to refrain from making baseless speculations about my client, (sic)" Mary Kom clarified.

For those uninitiated, Mary Kom and K Onler's love story had reportedly begun in 2000 in Delhi when Onler was a student in the Delhi University.
