Ruchi Gujjar Controversy: Model-Actress Booked Over Assault Allegations; Slapped Producer At Film Premiere

Ruchi Gujjar Controversy: Actress Ruchi Gujjar has been accused of causing a disturbance at the Solang Valley film premiere in Mumbai. The Amboli police registered an FIR against her after producer Man Lal Singh filed a complaint. Gujjar allegedly arrived uninvited at Cinepolis, Fun Republic Mall, Andheri West, and verbally and physically assaulted Singh. She reportedly threw a water bottle at him, hit him with her sandal, and threatened to halt the film's release.

Previously, on July 24, Gujjar had filed a complaint against Karan Singh Chauhan, a friend of Singh's, accusing him of defrauding her of Rs. 25 lakh. This led to an FIR being registered against Chauhan by the Amboli police. Singh, who runs Shorya Studio in Goregaon West, was introduced to Gujjar by Chauhan in 2023. They met at two parties that year.

Film Production Dispute

Singh has been producing Solang Valley since 2023 with Chauhan as co-producer. He stated that no financial transactions occurred between them. However, he later learned about Gujjar's allegations against Chauhan and decided to distance him from the film's production. Over the past month, Gujjar sent messages claiming Chauhan invested her money into the movie.

Gujjar also filed a petition in the City Civil Court in Dindoshi to stop the film's release but it was dismissed. On July 25, around 9 PM, during the premiere at Cinepolis, she arrived with four female bouncers and several male bouncers without an invitation or valid pass and forcefully entered the venue.

Alleged Assault at Premiere

Singh reported that Gujjar began shouting threats to prevent the movie's release upon arrival. She allegedly verbally abused him and assaulted his female bouncers before hitting Singh on the cheek with her sandal. When bystanders intervened, she reportedly threw a water bottle at Singh while her bouncers allegedly attacked him.

Bystanders managed to protect Singh from further harm during this altercation. Following this incident, Singh went to Versova Police Station to file a complaint against Gujjar and her bouncers for their actions at the premiere event.

Legal Proceedings

The police have charged Gujjar under Sections 329(3) for criminal trespass and house trespass; 115(2) for voluntarily causing hurt; 351(2) for criminal intimidation; and 352 for intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace according to Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

This case highlights ongoing tensions between those involved in Solang Valley's production amidst allegations of financial misconduct and disputes over its release.
