As per the reports, Karan offered Ruchi a Hindi TV show. The documents related to the show were sent to her by Karan. Believing that the offer was real, she made several payments to SR Event and Entertainment but later realized that she had been cheated.

As per her claims, the Hindi TV show never started, and instead the makers invested the money in the making of So Long Valley. As per News24's report, the complaint claims Man Singh took Rs. 25 Lakhs from Ruchi, promising her on-screen credit and profit. Police said, "The complainant stated that the project never materialised and Singh didn't return her money."

As per the outlet's report, Ruchi asked Karan to return her money but she was allegedly threatened in return. Therefore, the actress filed the FIR under sections 318 (4), 352, and 351 (2) of the IPC (BNS) for allegedly cheating her.
