In a surprising turn of events, Diljit Dosanjh's Sardaar Ji 3 won't be releasing in India. Yes, you read that right. The film has been slated for a theatrical release on June 27, 2025, overseas only. As per reports, FWICE (The Federation of Western India Cine Employees) urged the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) to hold back the certification of Sardaar Ji due to Hania Aamir and other Pakistani actors' presence in it. As a result, the makers decided to skip its theatrical release in India.

Sardaar Ji 3 Trailer Twitter Review: Indian Audience Reacts To Pak Actress Hania Aamir's Appearance
Amid the India vs Pakistan situation, Diljit Dosanjh and Sardaar Ji 3 trailer has been receiving backlash from the Indian audience due to Hania Aamir. Taking to Twitter (now 'X'), one of the Indian users wrote, "Trailer full of Hania Aamir, producer Diljit Dosanjh couldn't care less ๐ณ๐ญ"
A Twitter page named 'Bollywood Talkies' slammed Diljit Dosanjh and the Sardaar Ji 3 team for casting Pak actress Hania Aamir in the movie. The page tweeted, "This is such insensitive behaviour by #DiljitDosanjh & his team! While the Government of India has banned all Pakistani artists and their social media presence, Diljit has gone ahead and dropped a collaboration with #HaniaAamir through the song #SohniLagdi just a month after #OperationSindoor. ๐ฎ๐ณ
On one hand, he's taking a stand that goes against the sentiments of the nation ๐ฎ๐ณ , and on the other, he's starring in a patriotic film like #Border2. What a hypocritical move."
To note, Hania Aamir and other Pakistani artists' Instagram accounts have also been blocked by the Indian government in our country.
