Sardaarji 3: Producer Reacts To Casting Pak Actress Hania Aamir In Diljit Starrer Amid Massive Backlash
Diljit Dosanjh's upcoming film, Sardaar Ji 3, faces backlash for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir amidst escalating India-Pakistan tensions. The film will not be released in India, reflecting concerns over recent conflicts and public sentiment.

Diljit Dosanjh is facing criticism for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming film, Sardaar Ji 3. The trailer, released on June 22, 2025, revealed that the movie will not be shown in India due to ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. Fans expressed their disappointment over Hania's involvement, especially following her alleged comments after Operation Sindoor.
Gunbir Singh Sidhu, the film's producer, defended the decision to cast Hania. He explained to India Today that the film was completed before the conflict with Pakistan escalated. Considering Indian sentiments, they decided against releasing the movie in India. This aligns with the producers' confirmation of skipping an Indian release due to current tensions.
Sardaar Ji 3 Trailer Unavailable in India
The trailer for Sardaar Ji 3 is currently inaccessible on YouTube for Indian viewers. Those attempting to watch it receive a message stating: "The uploader has not made this video available in your country." This restriction reflects the decision to avoid an Indian release amid ongoing tensions.
On June 11, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) urged the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to deny certification for Sardaar Ji 3 due to its casting choices. Alongside Hania Aamir, other Pakistani actors like Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar, and Saleem Albela are featured. In response to this request and mounting controversy, the filmmakers opted for an overseas-only release.
Social Media Reactions and Controversy
Diljit Dosanjh shared the trailer on social media, clarifying its exclusive overseas release set for June 27. He wrote: "Sardaar Ji 3 Releasing 27th June OVERSEAS Only FADH LAO BHOOND DIAN LATTAN." His casting alongside popular Pakistani actors has sparked significant controversy ahead of its international debut.
Hania Aamir's Instagram account is also inaccessible in India. This likely results from heightened tensions following a recent terror attack in Pahalgam. She reportedly made anti-India remarks after Operation Sindoor — a military operation launched by India on May 7 targeting terror launch pads in Pakistan and PoK.
The decision to exclude an Indian release aims to avoid further complications amid growing backlash. As tensions persist between India and Pakistan, Sardaar Ji 3 will premiere only in overseas markets.
