Hans Raj Hans's Wife Resham Kaur Dies: The famed Sufi singer and former BJP MP Hans Raj Hans's wife Resham Kaur reportedly died on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Resham was pronounced dead in the afternoon at around 1 pm. She was recently unwell and was hospitalized at Tagore Hospital due to the same reasons. She was battling with a prolonged illness and was hospitalized in Jalandhar, where she took her last breath.

How Did Hans Raj Hans's Wife Resham Kaur Die?

According to the reports, Resham underwent a stent placement. It involves "inserting a small, expandable metal mesh tube (the stent) into a narrowed or blocked artery to keep it open and prevent re-narrowing." However, it did not improve her condition. She was moved to the hospital after having a heart attack. When Resham was hospitalized, her husband and both sons were present with her. To note, Resham was 62 years old.

Extending their condolence, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bitty posted on social media, "Deeply saddened by the demise of Smt. Resham Kaur Ji, wife of senior BJP leader, former MP, and renowned Sufi singer Padma Shri Hans Raj Hans Ji. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. May Waheguru grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give the family the strength to bear this profound loss (Sic)." Dr. Daljit S Cheema, Shiromani Akali Dal Senior leader, wrote on X, " am deeply saddened to hear the sudden demise of Resham Kaur ji wife of famous singer & former MP Mr Hans Raj Hans. This is a huge loss for the whole family. Resham Kaur ji had played a big role in the life of Mr Hans Raj Hans. She was a religious lady who supported Mr. Hans and the family through thick and thin. I pray to God to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to whole family to bear this irreparable loss."

Hans Raj Hans's Wife Resham Kaur's last rites will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 11 am in Safipur village.

Hans Raj Hans is known in the music industry because of his Sufi songs. He has even collaborated with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in movie Kachche Dhaage. Later, Hans Raj Hans joined politics and became a member of Shiromani Akali Dal. He then switched to Congress and then to BJP.
