In a tragic incident, Radhika Yadav, a 25-year-old state-level tennis player, was allegedly shot dead by her father in Gurugram's Sector 57. The event took place at their home in Sushant Lok Phase-2 around noon. Radhika was rushed to a private hospital but succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
According to the police, the altercation between Radhika and her father, Deepak Yadav, stemmed from disagreements over her decision to run a tennis academy. Following a heated argument, Deepak used his licensed pistol to shoot Radhika multiple times. Three of the five bullets hit her.
Father Confesses to Crime
The police have arrested Deepak Yadav, who has confessed to the crime. The revolver used in the shooting has been seized from their residence. Gurugram Police PRO Sandeep Kumar stated that the disagreement over the tennis academy was the primary reason behind this tragic incident.
Radhika was well-regarded on the state tennis circuit for her doubles performances. She had also established a tennis academy where she mentored aspiring players. Her former coach, Manoj Bhardwaj, expressed deep sorrow over her death, describing her as focused and talented.

Radhika's untimely death has left a void in the sports community. She had competed against notable players like Viswanadh Harshini and Bougrat Maelys. Her contributions to tennis were significant both as a player and as a mentor through her academy.
