Will Mahira Khan Work In Bollywood AGAIN

Mahira Khan On Working In Bollywood Again: The recent conflict between India and Pakistan post the Pahalgam attack and the subsequent Operation Sindoor has been all over the headlines and got everyone brimming with an opinion. Amid this, the Indian film industry stood in solidarity with the nation and boycotted Pakistani celebs in industry. In fact, while several Pakistani celebs were seen making bizarre statements about India, celebs like Mahira Khan, Mawra Hocane and Fawad Khan's images were removed from the posters of their Bollywood movies amid the cross-border conflict.

Needless to say, many fans have been wondering if Pakistani actors will ever work in Bollywood films again given the present circumstances. Interestingly, Mahira Khan was quizzed about the same during the promotions of her film Love Guru with co-star Humayun Saeed. To this, Mahira's response has been grabbing a lot of eyeballs on social media

During the promotional event, Mahira stated, "I think we need to focus inwards; we need to focus on our own industry. I'm someone who doesn't believe in the cancel culture or boycotts. I'm speaking broadly. But given the current situation, we're all emotional. Instead of advocating such strong stances which is one's prerogative, we should focus on ourselves. We should invest in us [in Pakistan]".

For the uninitiated, Mahira Khan had made her debut in Bollywood with the 2017 release Raees opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

To note, while 26 people were killed during the Pahalgam attack, Indian forces had conducted strikes on 9 terror bases in Pakistan under Operation Sindoor which was condemned by the Pak celebs. In fact, Mahira called strikes 'seriously cowardly'. Her statement was termed as anti-India and disrespectful towards the nation. As a result, All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) condemned her remarks and stated, "The statements are not just disrespectful to our nation but also an insult to the countless innocent lives lost due to terrorism and the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our country. AICWA reaffirms its strict and complete ban on Pakistani artists, filmmakers, and financiers working in India. No Indian artist will collaborate with any Pakistani talent, nor will any global platform be shared with them".
