Audible And Champak Collaborate To Redefine Kids Audio Storytelling With Fresh, Engaging Content Experience

Audible and Champak have launched English audiobooks for children, adapting 46 popular Champak stories into seven to ten minute audio episodes. The project aims to preserve Indian storytelling while offering screen-free, family friendly listening nationwide, with additional titles rolling out through the year.

Audible has partnered with children's magazine Champak to release 100 English audiobooks based on its stories, available only on Audible. The series turns popular Champak tales into short audio episodes for children and families. Each story aims to blend entertainment with gentle life lessons for young listeners.

Audible Champak Collab To Redefine Kids Audio Storytelling

Under the agreement, Audible licences 100 of Champak's bestselling stories and converts them into audio episodes lasting seven to ten minutes. At present, 46 English-language stories are already live on the service. Audible plans to release the remaining titles in phases through the rest of the year.

Audible Champak English audiobooks refresh classic children stories for Indian families

For many decades, Champak has shaped childhood reading in India through animal characters, simple plots, and moral lessons. The stories encourage imagination and kindness, while staying easy to follow for early readers. Families often use these short pieces for bedtime listening, travel time, or brief breaks during busy days.

The new Audible versions aim to recreate that experience through voice performances, background sounds, and careful direction. The adaptations seek to keep Champak's playful nature intact, while allowing children anywhere in India to listen through phones or speakers. The project reflects rising interest in Indian stories told in modern audio formats.

Shailesh Sawlani, Country Manager, India - Audible, said, "For years, Champak has been a beloved companion for children by fostering young minds' curiosity and empathy through its simple yet meaningful stories. We're excited to reintroduce this treasured part of Indian storytelling in a format that resonates with today's listeners. By transforming these tales into immersive audio experiences, we hope to spark the same sense of wonder and curiosity that Champak has inspired for generations and offer families a new way to experience these ageless stories together."

Richa Shah, Editor, India - Champak Magazine, said, "The first time a child's eyes widen — it is when they hear a story. Stories change children. Not in a big dramatic way — but quietly, steadily, story by story. The child who hears inclusive stories grows up more open. The child who hears adventurous stories grows up braver. And Champak stories are rooted in these values. Bringing these stories to Audible is the most natural next step. Because Audible means a child in Mumbai, in London, in Nairobi, in New York — anywhere — can close their eyes at bedtime, or look out of a car window on a long ride, and be taken somewhere wonderful. No screen. No images. Just a voice and their imagination. We wanted Champak to belong to every child who wanted to listen. Audible makes that possible."

At this stage, listeners can access 46 Champak audiobooks on Audible, with the balance arriving later this year. The collection sits alongside Audible's wider catalogue of audiobooks, Audible originals, and podcasts for children. Each episode is created to entertain, teach simple values, and spark curiosity among young audiences nationwide.

The Champak English audiobook series is available only on Audible for streaming or download. Listeners can access the released stories on Audible.in or through the Audible app on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The collaboration supports audio preservation of Indian storytelling traditions while expanding choices for families who prefer screen-free content.
