The Barrackpore Assembly constituency, located in the Presidency region of West Bengal, is witnessing a closely watched electoral battle this year with multiple prominent candidates in the fray.

Representing the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) is filmmaker-turned-legislator Raj Chakrabarty. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded 35-year-old Kaustuv Bagchi, while the Indian National Congress (INC) is represented by Sambhu Das. From the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), Suman Bandyopadhyay is contesting, alongside Amal Kumar Sen from the Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) (SUCI).

According to initial trends reported by The Times of India, BJP's Kaustuv Bagchi is currently leading in the Barrackpore constituency, with Raj Chakrabarty trailing behind (till 1:15 PM). Candidates from CPM, Congress, and other parties are lagging in the early rounds of counting.

As per India Today, BJP is in the lead in Barrackpur, with Kaustuv Bagchi having polled 6421 votes so far, while AITC's Raj is currently trailing with 5076 votes.

However, the final outcome is yet to be declared, and the counting process is still underway. With several rounds remaining, the lead could shift as more votes are tallied.
