Is Poonam Pandey Pregnant For Real? Actress Shares New Video To Address The Big News
Poonam Pandey has clarified that the widely shared baby bump photographs were part of an April Fool prank. On 1 April, Poonam posted a video on Instagram confirming that the supposed pregnancy announcement was fake. Poonam urged followers not to take life too seriously and to relax despite global tensions.

The clarification arrived a day after social media was flooded with her bump pictures. On 31 March, Poonam uploaded images that suggested a first pregnancy and sparked heavy speculation. Many users suspected a publicity stunt, while others sent congratulatory messages, unsure whether the news was genuine.
Poonam Pandey Pregnancy Truth
In the new video, Poonam directly addressed the confusion over the viral photographs. Poonam linked the prank to the stressful mood around the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Poonam said the idea was to offer light entertainment at a time when many people felt anxious and overwhelmed.
A longer clip, also shared on Instagram, showed Poonam explaining the intention behind the prank in detail. Poonam said the fake bump post was meant to be playful. Poonam also signalled that such unexpected moves were part of Poonam’s online persona, which often aims to shock viewers.
"Guys, thank you so much for your lovely wishes. Lekin mein pregnant nahi hu. Guys aaj April Fool day hai, prank tha yaar. Waise hi war chal raha hai, puri duniya waise hi stress me hai, maine socha mein tumlog ko thodha sa entertain karti hu. Mein tehri Poonam Pandey, mera haq banta hai aapko shock karne ka. Itna seriously mat lo yaar life ko, thodha chill maaro. Hai na!" She then started singing the April Fool song in the end.
Poonam Pandey New Viral Video Post Pregnancy Prank
Poonam captioned the latest video with a single word, "April", followed by a rose emoji. The short description underlined the prank’s link to April Fool’s Day. The post quickly drew thousands of views and comments, extending the debate over whether the joke had gone too far.
Social media responses showed a split reaction to the prank. Some Instagram users claimed they had recognised the stunt immediately. One comment read, "Pata tha mujhe." Another said, "Apun ne toh kal ich likh dala thha "Nice prosthetic" beedu!!!" A different user criticised the act, writing, "Ye accha nahi kiya aap ne."
The pregnancy hoax follows a past incident where Poonam staged news of Poonam’s own death. On 1 February 2024, Poonam’s official Instagram account claimed Poonam had died from cervical cancer. The next day, 2 February 2024, Poonam appeared and revealed it was a planned stunt for a "good cause" to raise awareness.
That earlier campaign provoked strong backlash, with many accusing Poonam of exploiting illness for attention. The latest April Fool prank has revived discussion about those tactics and their impact. Online users are again questioning where the line lies between entertainment and insensitivity on social media.
Apart from social media controversies, Poonam’s recent work includes a stint on the reality show Lock Upp. The programme was hosted by Kangana Ranaut, with Munawar Faruqui emerging as the winner. For now, Poonam’s Instagram remains the main stage for such stunts, statements and public reactions.
