Janhvi Kapoor is urging people to look closely at alcohol addiction and excessive drinking within families. In a recent conversation, Janhvi Kapoor described how harmful patterns often go unnoticed. The initiative stresses early awareness, responsible behaviour and practical support, rather than silence or judgement, when alcohol begins to affect daily life.

Sharing what Janhvi Kapoor has learnt, the actor said, "One of the most important things I've learnt is that you should almost never confront someone when they are in a delirious state or under the influence," and noted that blame during calmer moments can also escalate conflict instead of helping.

Janhvi Kapoor alcohol addiction initiative and excessive drinking awareness

Janhvi Kapoor explained that many households quietly face distress linked to excessive drinking, yet few discuss how to handle it. Stories of arguments, emotional strain and disrupted relationships are common, Janhvi Kapoor observed. However, guidance on responding safely, especially for family members who feel stuck or unsure, is still limited.

To address this gap, Janhvi Kapoor has partnered with Amaha, a mental health organisation. Through this association, Janhvi Kapoor has consulted medical experts to understand alcohol addiction better. These discussions focus on behaviour patterns, warning signs and constructive responses, so information and mental health support become easier for people to access.

Encouraging a careful and informed approach, Janhvi Kapoor highlighted the need to notice early red flags in alcohol use. "My call to arms is simple — don't abuse it. Recognise when you're crossing that line, and if you see these red flags in someone you care about, understand how to deal with it better," she said, stressing compassionate, aware conversations.
