From Arijit Singh's decision to retire from playback singing to his musical inspiration, the music artist bared his heart out while talking to us.
Here are excerpts from the interview-
1 - Bhaarat has grabbed eyeballs, capturing the attention of the audience with its emotional tribute to the soul of the country. What was your thought process while creating the song?
Bhaarat was born out of pure love and respect for my country. I created the beat late at night, and the song came together naturally in one flow. It felt honest and instinctive, not planned.
2 - In today's time, when there is so much hatred and division on social media, you talked about the beauty of diversity in India - do you really feel the same in terms of emotions? And how do you incorporate it in your song, especially Bhaarat?
Even though social media often shows division, I still see unity in everyday life. Bhaarat reflects that real emotion of people standing together beyond differences.
3 - Who is your inspiration? When did this music bug bite you?
My inspiration comes from life and the people around me. Music became my way of expressing emotions and thoughts I couldn't always put into words.
4 - What is your dream collaboration? With whom do you want to work on a grand musical project?
I'm open to collaborating with artists who value honesty and storytelling. For me, the connection matters more than the scale.
5 - How do you plan to take Indie music to the next level, especially considering music labels have a dominance in the field, and indie music is not able to prosper with wings.
Independent music grows through community and consistency. It may take time, but it creates deeper, more meaningful connections with listeners.
6 - Are you disappointed with Arijit Singh taking a step away from playback singing in Bollywood? What was your first reaction?
I respect any artist who chooses what feels right for their journey. Every creative phase needs space to evolve.
7 - In Bhaarat, you reference the Constitution, Aryabhata, and India's intellectual legacy. What message do you want listeners to take away from these historical cues?
The references are meant to remind listeners that our strength comes from both emotion and knowledge. Our roots give us clarity and direction.
8 - The pride in Bhaarat feels calm and reflective, not loud. What kind of deshbhakti are you encouraging people to listen to and embrace today?
I believe in a thoughtful form of patriotism that shows in everyday actions and empathy, not just loud expressions.
9 - You blend history with modern realities throughout the song. How did you approach presenting India's past in a way that feels relevant to today's generation?
I tried to present history in a simple, relatable way so the younger generation can connect with it emotionally, not just academically.
10 - The Bhaarat merch translates the song into something tangible. Is there a design you personally loved the most, and why?
I like the designs that carry the idea of the song in a subtle way. The collaboration with A47 helped take the message beyond music.
11- What's been the most memorable or heartwarming fan reaction to the merch drop so far?
Seeing people connect with the song and want to carry its message forward through the merch has been very rewarding.
12- Any fun or meaningful behind-the-scenes moments from the shoot that stood out for you?
The entire team put their heart into the video. Seeing everyone come together with the same intent was one of the most meaningful parts of the process.
