Shosei Ohira has personally addressed fans following his exit from JO1, sharing an emotional note that sheds light on his decision. Apologizing to the group's fandom, JAMs, for his prolonged silence, the 26-year-old revealed that he had spent months reflecting on his future before arriving at this conclusion.

In his statement, he wrote, "To all the JAMs, I am truly sorry for the delay in reporting this since my hiatus. For about six months, I have been thinking deeply about my future and have had many discussions with the agency. As a result, I have decided to end my activities as a member of JO1. I sincerely apologize to everyone who has supported me until now for this sudden announcement. I deeply regret the great trouble I have caused to all the JAMs due to my own shortcomings and immaturity. I also sincerely apologize again to the members, the agency staff, and everyone involved for the great trouble I have caused. From now on, I will be walking a different path, but I will cherish the experiences I have had so far and move forward without forgetting my gratitude. Meeting JO1 and all the JAMs is a treasure I will cherish for a lifetime."

Ohira had been on hiatus since October 2025 after a controversy surfaced involving a breach of company rules. Reports at the time alleged that he had been meeting Shizuku while also being in a relationship with a non-celebrity, sparking cheating accusations that quickly became a major talking point in the J-pop scene.

Addressing the situation back then, his agency, Lapone Entertainment, stated, "We confirmed a matter that violated company rules and judged it to be a serious act that betrayed the expectations of fans," leading to his suspension from activities.

After remaining inactive for nearly six months, Ohira has now chosen to step away from the group entirely, bringing an end to his journey with JO1 while leaving fans with a mix of disappointment and closure.
