Singer Priya Patidar Opens Up About Her Song In Welcome To The Jungle: Dream Come True

Playback singer Priya Patidar received the best birthday gift as her new playback song from the film Welcome To The Jungle has finally been released. The film, which stars Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Disha Patani, is slated to release on 26th June.

"I would sincerely like to thank Akshay Kumar Sir, composer Vikram Montrose, music supervisor and lyricist Meggha Bali for giving me this incredible opportunity," Patidar said.

For the singer, being part of the franchise is deeply personal. "Welcome To The Jungle holds a very special place in my heart because I have been a huge fan of Akshay Sir since childhood. Having a song picturised on him truly feels like a dream come true," she shared.

Recalling the original 2007 film, she added, "Back in 2007, when Welcome released, it became a massive hit, and I used to hum its melodies all the time. Never did I imagine that one day I would become a part of this iconic franchise and lend my voice to it."

Patidar revealed how the opportunity came. "I have previously worked with Vikram Montrose, so one fine day he called me and said, 'There's a song to record, can you come?' I didn't ask what the project was for or whether it was for a film or something else. I simply went to the studio," she said.

"The moment Vikram played the song, I was completely shocked and excited. But I also knew it was still at a very initial stage, and nothing was finalised."

Explaining the uncertainty of playback singing, she noted, "In playback singing, the process is quite long. After recording, the song goes to the producer, director, and even the actors for their opinions on how the voice sounds. Only much later is the final singer selected. So I recorded my parts and quietly left. I didn't even ask Vikram afterwards whether my voice was being retained or not because honestly, I knew I would be heartbroken if I wasn't selected."

The confirmation, she said, was unforgettable. "A few days ago, Vikram called me and gave me the best news of my life that the song was finally releasing soon. Believe me, I was absolutely overjoyed and on cloud nine."

Another highlight for Patidar was collaborating with a veteran singer. "Having a duet with the renowned singer Shaan Sir is also a dream fulfilled from my bucket list. Sharing a song with such an iconic voice is truly an honour," she concluded.

"Last but not the least, I want to thank my parents wholeheartedly for believing in my dreams and trusting my journey. Everything I am today is because of their love, support, and faith in me," she added, emphasising how foundational their role has been in her career.
