"Everyone was scared, and I was too. My reaction was very quick and very loud," she said, adding that she wasn't prepared for such a situation. She further explained that artists often need to stay alert due to safety concerns: "Artists like us have to be a little cautious due to security reasons."
The singer also informed fans that the college authorities have taken strict action against the student involved. However, Sunanda Sharma urged the institute's management to show leniency, stating that his intentions may not have been wrong. "I request everyone to forgive him, because I have forgiven him too," she said. She also added, "Sometimes the way someone expresses love goes a little wrong. I don't think he had any ill intentions, but the way he expressed it went a little wrong."
