Uorfi Javed Talks About Escaping Abuse, Surviving In Delhi And Chasing Stardom, Says, “No One Considers...'
Actor, host and internet sensation Uorfi Javed recently opened up about her inspiring journey from struggling in the television industry to becoming one of social media's biggest fashion influencers. During a candid conversation with Soha Ali Khan on her podcast, Uorfi reflected on her difficult early days, revealing how she always dreamt of becoming a star and living a luxurious life, as per reports by Hindustan Times.

The actress shared that she had run away from home to escape an abusive environment and worked in a call centre in Delhi while also taking tuition classes to survive financially. Despite the hardships, she always believed she would eventually make it big in Mumbai.
Uorfi further revealed that after struggling to find opportunities in Bollywood due to lack of connections, she turned towards television. She shared that while auditioning for Bollywood projects, she realised it was difficult to get work without industry connections. She then decided to audition for television, believing "no one would reject her pretty face." However, she mostly landed supporting roles in several shows.
Recalling her experience in the television industry, Uorfi admitted that the atmosphere on sets was often disappointing for actors playing side characters. "It was very bad. No one considers you anything if you are not a star or not the lead. If you are a side character you are not treated well. I was not happy and I felt I was meant for bigger things," she said.
Although she earned nearly ₹40,000 a month through television projects, Uorfi confessed that she was never fully satisfied and always wanted to be in the spotlight. Over time, her interest in fashion and social media began shaping a completely new path for her career.
Uorfi also shared that her journey as a content creator started organically when she began experimenting with DIY fashion content online. Her appearance on Bigg Boss OTT became a turning point, especially after one of her outfits made from garbage went viral across social media, according to Hindustan Times reports.
She also recalled how an airport look featuring a sports bra and jacket unexpectedly became a massive viral moment, pushing her into the spotlight as a bold fashion influencer and internet personality.
Interestingly, Uorfi admitted that she never strategically planned her online image and that her popularity happened naturally. With growing fame and brand collaborations, her income reportedly increased to nearly ₹2 lakh a month, marking a huge transformation from her struggling television days.
