Born as Willard Christopher Smith Jr. to mother and father, Caroline and Willard Smith Sr- on the twenty fifth of September, 1968 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up to be nicknamed the "Prince" because he would always find an easy way out of a sticky situation. With music on his mind, he went about pursuing it. His first big break came when he had met Jeff Townes, a DJ. A perfect pair they teamed up and started performing together as DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. The DJ-rap duo took off. Their debut album was Rock The House (1987) with Sony Music. The follow ups albums were He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper (1988), And In This Corner... (1989) and Homebase (1991). In 1989, he approved of a sitcom based on his own story and the following year The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. It starred him and DJ Jazzy Jeff (as Jazz) along with a whole family comprising James Avery, Alfonso Ribeiro, Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons and Joseph Marcel as the main characters of the Sitcom. It lasted six years. It had the unforgettable rhyme The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air...

In west Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school

The show was a success. His music career too was booming with the release of Code Red in 1993 the same year as the release of his debut feature film Six Degrees of Separation. Then on his music and movie career ran parallel to each other. He bagged a role in Bad Boys in '95, which set him on the international stage of acting. Independence Day, Men in Black, Enemy of the State and Wild Wild West followed in which he acted with well-established actors like Tommy Lee Jones, Gene Hackman, Jeff Goldblum and Randy Quaid. He followed that up with sequels to Bad Boys and Men in Black along with The Legend of Bagger Vance and Ali, which won him an Oscar in 2001 for his role. Sci-fi thriller I-Robot and romantic comedy Hitch were his last two released films His music career took good shape in the form of Big Willie Style (1997), his next album. This preceded a greatest hits CD the following year. Willennium was released in 1999. He released two more albums -Born to Reign in 2002 and Lost and Found in 2005 apart from another greatest hits CD. His to-be released soon movies are Pursuit of Happiness (which co-stars his son Jaden Smith) and Tonight, He comes. He is yet to shoot for another movie, Time Share.

He first married Sheree Smith in 1992, a marrige, which lasted for three years. He is now presently married to Jada Pinkett Smith, an actress herself (Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions) whom he married in 1997. They have two children together, Jaden and Willow Smith. Will Smith has also been the voice of Oscar in Shark Tale. He has been recently been in the news for being on the forefront of the Hollywood intrest in Bollywood. He was in India to scout for acting talent and went back all praises for Bollywood. He even offered Aishwarya Rai a part in his next project while in the country.
