She is a women of strict principles who has never taken the help of obscene roles to climb the ladder of success. In fact, her every look has work as a killer dosage. 'Dream Girl' title best suites her identity, and requires no further introduction. Yes, you are right. She is none other than the beautiful Hema Malini. Let's explore her wide personality.

Talented child Hema
Hema Malini belongs to the southern part of India. She was born to Jaya Chakrabarty and V.S.R Chakrabarty in October 16th 1948, at Ammanakundi in Tamil Nadu. Hema Malini pursued her studies at Andra Mahila Sabha in Chennai. Since her childhood, she had keen interest in dancing and was trained in classical dance. Later on, she emerged as a great Bharatnatyan dancer, and performed many stage shows all over India.

Charming actress Hema
When she first tried her hand in Tamil cinema, Hema Malini had to hear various unpleasant comments like she did not possess star appeal, so and so. But, such type of comments could not break her strong desire to enter filmdom. She then forwarded her foot towards Bollywood and got the first break in Sapnon Ka Saudagar, opposite Raj Kapoor. From then, there was no looking back. Johney Mera Naam, Seeta Aur Geeta, Trisul, Satte Pe Satta and the list goes on where Hema proved her credentials. In 20 yrs of her career Hema Malini had worked with almost all the lead heroes and filmmakers of the period. She was honoured with every category of awards.

Director Hema
Hema Malini also wore the cap of director once. She directed Dil Aashna Hai in 1992, and casted Shahrukh Khan and Divya Bharati. Unfortunately, the film could not fare well.

Dharmendra's Hema
There were many who had a special feelings for Hema and wanted her to be their life partner. She got proposal from top stars like Jeetendra and Sanjeev Kumar. But Hema, preferred to ignore them all. Because at that time, she had someone else on her mind. That lucky man was handsome Dharmendra, who was then the most popular actor. The fact that Dharmendra was already married man and was the father of two sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol, did not shook her decision to marry him. They tied the knot in 1980.

Dutiful mother Hema
Though Dharmendra was always at the back, Hema played a vital role in bringing up her two daughters, Esha and Aahana Deol. She is a strict mother and at the same time a good friend and a perfect guide. She got her daughters trained in Oddisi dance and they performed at many shows together. She never enforced her decision on them. When Esha expressed her desire to act, she readily accepted. Aahana also took up film direction. Initially, Hema used to accompany Esha to the sets but after sometimes, when Esha learned all the ticks of acting and understood the scenario of filmdom, she let her move alone. She played the role of protective mother very well.
