Akanksha Puri Biography

Akanksha Puri is an Indian actress and model who works in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada films and television shows. She is widely recognised for playing Goddess Parvati in the Hindi television series Vighnaharta Ganesha & Naagini 3 and also for some notable performances in movies like Calendar Girls, Action, and Praise the Lord.

Personal and Early Life

Puri was born on July 26, 1988, to RK Puri and Chitra Puri, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. She received her education from Bhopal's Carmel Convent School. After earning her degree from Devi Ahilya University in Indore, she briefly worked as an air hostess. She then started her modelling career and starred in a number of commercials.

Career

In the 2013 Tamil action comedy Alex Pandian, Puri earned her screen debut. With the 2015 drama flick Calendar Girls by Madhur Bhandarkar, she went on to make her Hindi film debut. She was given the role of Mata AdiParashakti in the Vighnaharta Ganesh TV serial in 2017. Along with CID, Naagin 3, and Kavach 2, she has also made appearances in a number of other television programmes.

She started her first appearance in the Malayalam film industry by portraying Annie in the Malayalam film Praise the Lord, which was released the same year, and she also portrayed the role of Mukundan in the Tamil film Tihar.
