Namitha Biography

Namitha, aka Namitha Kapoor born as Namita Mukesh Vankawala, is an Indian actress who has appeared in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam & English films.

She was born in Surat, India. Her father is a textile businessman and her mother is a housewife. Her dad ran a Raymonds' Showroom. She did her B.A. in MTB Arts College. Namitha lives in Chennai now, with over 30 films to her credit. She has over 2500 fan clubs and is doing a lot of charity work and has a soft corner for HIV affected kids and often aids them in the Pondicherry Communicable Disease center.

Namitha also sponsored public toilet projects in commercial areas of several states, mainly for ladies. Namitha besides her films has also gained fame in small-screen programme Manada Mailada in Kalaignar TV.

She was crowned Miss Surat in 2000 and came fourth in the Miss India contest during the year 2001, along with Trisha Krishnan, and Celina Jaitley, who was crowned Miss India Universe.

She participated in the reality show of Bigg Boss Tamil.
