Pranav Mohanlal Biography

Pranav Mohanlal is an Indian actor and singer who appears in Malayalam films. He is  son of legendary Actor Mohanlal, and is also known for his  best movies like Hridayam, Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham,  Adhi and Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu . He won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role in Punarjani(2002).

Personal Life
Born on 13 July 1990 in Thiruvanathapuram. He is the son of actor Mohanlal and Suchitra Balaji and grandson of K.Balaji, a popular producer in the Tamil Film Industry. He has a sister Vismaya Mohanlal, she is an author and assistant director in Malayalam Film Industry.

After, completing his education in India, Pranav went to Australia to pursue a degree from the University of New South Wales.

Career Life
Pranav Mohanlal began his acting career life as a child artist in 2002. He made his first debut with 'Onnaman ',the film directed by Thampi Kannanthanam starring his father Mohanlal, Biju Menon, and Remya Krishna. After that, he appeared in a lead role in the film 'Punarjani'directed by Major Ravi in 2003. His performance as a child artist was much appreciated in the film and, he won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Chil Artist in that year.

After a long break, the actor returns to the industry with the Action thriller 'Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded 'in 2009. He made a cameo role in the film and later he associated with Director Jeethu Joseph for the movies like Papansam and Life of Josutty in 2015.  In 2016, the actor marked his debut with 'Aadhi ' in 2008. He appeared in the film as a hero directed by Jithu Joseph and produced by Antony Perumbavoor. With his great efforts, the actor who appeared in action sequences in the film grabbed the audience's attention. It was a commercial success film and highest grossing  Malayalam film of 2018.

The next year, he acted in the film  Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu, which flopped at the box office, later he appeared in front of the audience by playing the younger version of his father in the film  Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham.(2020). The film was directed by Priyadarshan and starred Mohanlal, Arjun Sarja , Rohit Shetty and Manju Warrier in the lead roles. But, the film was declared a commercial flop.

After facing two box-office failures, Pranav acted in the film 'Hridayam', a romantic drama directed by Vineeth Srinivasan in 2022. The actors  Dharshana Rajendran and Kalyani Priyadarshan appeared in the female lead roles. The film attained critical appreciation and it became a blockbuster hit movie. It collected a gross collection of over ₹50 crores worldwide.

Pranav is not an actor only, he is a singer and lyricist also. In 2018, he wrote, sang, and performed the song 'Gypsy Woman' in the film 'Aadhi.
