Simran Bagga Biography

Simran Bagga also known as Simran, is an Indian film actress, model and television personality. She has predominantly appeared in Tamil films, along with Telugu language films, as well as a few films in Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. She is considered to be one of the most versatile actresses of her period.

Simran was born, the first daughter of Ashok Naval and Saradha. She married Deepak Bagga, chief pilot of Indian aviation, in a Punjabi-style wedding on December 2, 2003. She is a Punjabi Hindu. She had two sisters, Monal (an actress who commited suicide) and Jyothi Naval and a brother named Sumith. She finished her B.Com in Mumbai and was modelling simultaneously and later entered the film industry.

Career

Simran made her debut in the Hindi film Sanam Harjai directed by Saawan Kumar. Jaya Bachchan (ABCL Corp) who saw her in "Superhit Muqabla" on Doordarshans Metro channel offered her a leading role in "Tere Mere Sapne".

She later on moved down south by acting first in a high budget Malayalam film, Indraprastham with Megastar Mammootty in the lead role, and then to the Tamil movie industry and Telugu movie industry where she established herself as a bankable actress.

She was called the "Queen of Kollywood". She became the Lady Super Star of the Tamil film industry and ruled Kollywood from 1998 to 2004. She speaks Punjabi, Hindi, English, French Tamil and Telugu. Simran is a versatile dancer and can perform Bharatanatyam with the same ease as she performs Salsa.
