Suman Biography

Suman is a South Indian film actor. He played the romantic hero in Tamil and Telugu films during the 1980s. He acted as Rajini's brother in Thee. After a long while away from cinema, he returned to acting in Tamil films in 2007, starring in S. Shankar's Sivaji: The Boss with Rajinikanth. He has also appeared with Joseph Vijay in Kuruvi and has acted with Ajith Kumar in Aegan. He was a stylish star of the 1980s and 1990s. He acted in many action and romantic movies in Telugu, including Sitara, Tharangini, and Neti Bharatham.

Suman was born on 28th of August 1959, in Andhra Pradesh in a Bhillavas family. Bhillavas community belongs to Toddy Tapper Community (Goud, Ediga, Nadar, Ezhva). He is the only son of Sri. Susheel Chander and the late Smt. Kesari Chander. His mother tongue is Tulu and he can speak Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi fluently.

Suman did his kindergarten at Church Park Convent, Chennai. He completed his schooling at The Besant Theosophical High School, Chennai. He joined the Pachayappas College to do his B.A. in English Literature.

Suman is married to Smt. Sirisha (granddaughter of well known Play-Writer Sri. D.V. Narasa Raju). They are blessed with a daughter Akilaja Prathyusha. Suman holds a Black Belt 1st Dan in Karate, from Shotokan Karate Association (affiliated to Japan Karate Association). He is the Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Karate Association.

Suman started his film career as a police officer in Tamil movie Neechal Kulam 1977 produced by T.R. Rammanna. In more than 3 decades, he has acted in more than 150 films as a hero in various languages namely Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and English. He recently relaunched his career by playing the villain in Kollywood movies Sivaji and Kuruvi.

Suman initially started showing his interest in politics by supporting regional TDP (Telugu Desam Party) during 1999 under the leadership of the then chief minister Chandra Babu Naidu. In 2004, he along with his supporters joined BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party).
