'Baki The Grappler' Manga To Get A Live Stage Play Adaptation

The 'Baki The Grappler' manga series by Keisuke Itagaki is going to be getting a live stage play adaptation that will be hitting Japanese venues sometime in December, 2024. More specifically, the play will be held in the Shinjuku Face, 7th floor of the Humax Pavilion Shinjuku complex, 1-20-1 Kabukicho, Tokyo, Japan from December 4th, 2024 till December 8th, 2024.

The play will be directed by Daisuke Tanaka, who also wrote the script. Since 'Baki The Grappler' is a very action-packed manga, notable action director Hideaki Okuzumi will be choreographing the fight scenes.

The main lead of the stage play, that being Baki Hanma, will be played by Yugo Sato, who has had a lot of experience with stage play adaptations of popular manga. An example of this would be his prior role of Inosuke Hashibira in the Demon Slayer stage play.

As reported by Crunchyroll, Yugo Sato had this to say about his role in the upcoming stage play. "I am sure that everyone involved in this play has thought about the pressure of physical preparation. I believe that how far we can push ourselves physically and mentally until the day of the performance is the key that directly connects to the quality of the show. I am very much looking forward to seeing how we will express the worldview depicted by Keisuke Itagaki-sensei with our bodies."

Of course, Yugo Sato isn't the only member of the stage play's cast that's been revealed. Other cast members include Momoka Onishi, Sho Higano, Haruto Sakuraba, Riku Noma, Rita Aizawa, Masafumi Yokoyama, Zenitsu Hashimoto, Kotaro, Akira Tanaka, Shinobu Koga, and more.

Fans of the show will be able to pre-purchase tickets for the stage play from the official website from August 8th till August 18th. After that, regular ticket sales for the stage play will start from October 3rd.
