A few weeks ago, the Lionsgate Movies YouTube channel had just released the final trailer for their upcoming video game based film, 'Borderlands (2024)'

The movie is releasing in theatres worldwide tomorrow, and with that information in mind, here are some of the details that you should know if you're a movie buff, a gamer, or are just generally interested in a sci-fi comedy.

Plot Details Of 'Borderlands (2024)'

The story of the 'Borderlands (2024) movie will follow the protagonist 'Lilith', a bounty hunter who has to return to her home planet Pandora. She's not particularly excited about the visit, as Pandora is considered to be one of the most chaotic planets in the universe, but she's forced to go as her current mission involves finding the daughter of Atlas, one of the most powerful men in the universe.

As she explores Pandora, she manages to recruit and fight alongside a gang of misfits which include Roland, an experienced ex-soldier and mercenary; Tiny-Tina, a pre-teen demolitions expert with a personality as equally unstable as her bombs; Krieg, a psycho that's been tasked with protecting Tiny Tina; Tannis, an odd scientist with a few loose screws due to exposure to the universe's greatest anomalies; and finally Claptrap, a very, very talkative robot.

Those who have played the Borderlands videogames will find many of these names recognizable. Lilith, Roland and Krieg were playable characters in the first game, with Tiny-Tina, Tannis and Claptrap being very important non-playable characters. Pandora is the planet where most of the Borderlands video game would take place, and even Atlas is a recognisable name as many of the guns in Borderlands were made by the Atlas company.

As we learn more about the movie, the references to the original material will only grow.

Cast And Crew Behind 'Borderlands (2024)'

The movie is directed by Eli Roth, and the name should be familiar to those who are into horror and gore movies as the director has previously worked on 'Cabin Fever', 'Hostel', 'The Green Inferno' and more. While it's hard to say how his talents will transfer over to the Borderlands franchise, we'll certainly get to see his talents in shots with a lot of blood and guts.
