'John Wick' Sequel Series In The Works; Picking Up After 'John Wick 4'

A sequel television series for the popular, action-packed 'John Wick' franchise is currently being worked on by Lionsgate Television. Deadline recently reported that a sequel series is being produced by Keanu Reeves and directed by Chad Stahelski.
The new series will pick up after 'John Wick 4'. For context, 'John Wick 4' ended with John, alongside former colleague and friend Caine, killing the main antagonist, Marquis de Gramont. This set of events led to Caine earning his freedom, and Winston getting reinstated as the hotel manager of The Continental. The events also caused John Wick to be gravely injured, with the ending showing his gravestone next to that of his wife.
While there is no confirmation as to whether John Wick truly died or simply faked his death again, we know that the sequel series will probably not revolve around him. It will instead revolve around the many side characters of the franchise who now have to navigate an assassin world where many bigshots are dead and power vacuums are in abundance.
In the post-credit scene of John Wick 4, we also saw Caine visiting his daughter before he was approached by a knife-wielding assassin, Akira. There is a chance that Caine will be one of the protagonists of the spin-off series, or play a major role in the plot.
The official name for the series is reported to be 'John Wick: The High Table' and it will be directed by Chad Stahelski, and executively produced by Keanu Reeves, Erica Lee, as well as Basil Iwanyk.
There is also a fifth John Wick movie that is supposedly in the works, but the development of this spin-off series won't interrupt the release of 'John Wick 5'. Fans of the franchise may want to keep an eye on the development of both, though, as this series may give a lot of context to what is currently being worked on for the fifth installment of the franchise.
