'Kaiju No. 8' Anime Has Season 2 Announced; Available To Watch In 2025

One of the animes that was added very recently to Crunchyroll this year, 'Kaiju No. 8' recently announced that a season 2 of the series is already in the works and will be available to watch in 2025.

We also know so far that for Season 2, one of the more important characters, Gen Narumi, captain of the First Division, will be played by Koki Uchiyama. Anime fans may recognize his voice from Soul Eater as that of the male protagonist, Soul Evans.

Alongside the news of the season 2 being confirmed and the timeframe for its release being announced, we're also informed that next year, there will be some events which will play compilations of clips from season 1, a special episode titled "Hoshina's Day Off", and even a live event with the voice actors of the show.

For those that are interested in the anime, its first season's 12 episodes are currently available on Crunchyroll. The summary written by Crunchyroll for the anime reads, "In a world plagued by creatures known as Kaiju, Kafka Hibino aspired to enlist in The Defense Force. He makes a promise to enlist with his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. Soon, life takes them in separate ways. While employed cleaning up after Kaiju battles, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa. Reno's determination to join The Defense Force reawakens Kafka's promise to join Mina and protect humanity."

The manga was originally written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto. The first season of 'Kaiju No. 8' was directed by Shigeyuki Miya and Tomomi Kamiya, with Tetsuya Nishio providing character designs, Yuta Bando providing music, and Ichiro Okouchi working on the series composition.
