'Rez Ball' Netflix Trailer, Release Date, Cast And Crew, Other Details

The Official Netflix YouTube channel just recently added the trailer for an upcoming sports drama film titled 'Rez Ball'.

This movie will not only have a wide array of characters and a lot of cultural significance to Native American culture, but there are also plenty of big names backing it. For those that are interested or are simply passionate about the basketball scene, here are some of the details you should know about this upcoming film.

Plot Details Of 'Rez Ball'

This sports drama film will follow the story of the basketball team, the Chuska Warriors, who come from Chuska, New Mexico. While the team initially had a very strong chance at the state championship, an unfortunate tragedy claimed the life of their star player and close friend, Nataanii. The team, however, must keep their spirits up if they want to win the state championship and beat their rivals, the Santa Fe Catholic.

In order to stay strong and put up a good performance, the team and its coaches decide to go back to their Native American roots and explore a culture of America that is not often talked about in modern media, showing a side of America that is often lost amidst the big budget films and events.

Cast And Crew Behind 'Rez Ball'

The movie will be directed by Sydney Freeland. Freeland also wrote the script alongside another great scriptwriter, Sterlin Harjo. The movie will also be produced by one of the legends of the NBA, LeBron James.

Freeland herself commented about the movie to Netflix, stating, "We've done our best to try to capture that experience on-screen, on camera, and we want to share that with people. Hopefully, people watch the film and they walk out feeling like, 'Oh wow, I didn't know this was something that existed.' And hopefully, we can expand people's horizons just a little bit more."
