Fans of the original Superman movies featuring Christopher Reeves will be delighted to know that the Warner Bros. Pictures' Official YouTube channel just released a trailer for an autobiographical film for the Man of Steel from the 1970s. The name of the film is 'Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story' and the trailer can be watched below.

What Is 'Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story' About?

The story of the film has been described by the trailer as follows, "The story of Christopher Reeve is an astonishing rise from unknown actor to iconic movie star, and his definitive portrayal of Clark Kent/Superman set the benchmark for the superhero cinematic universes that dominate cinema today. Reeve portrayed the Man of Steel in four Superman films and played dozens of other roles that displayed his talent and range as an actor, before being injured in a near-fatal horse-riding accident in 1995 that left him paralyzed from the neck down."

The film plans to explore how Christopher Reeves went from portraying one of the strongest fictional characters in cinema's history, to being an activist for disability rights after becoming a quadriplegic. The film also explores the many challenges he faced in both his health, family, mental, and career.

Who All Are Working Behind 'Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story'?

The film is going to be directed by the duo Ian Bonhote and Peter Ettedgui, and will not only feature the many films Reeve worked on in his career, but also home movies shot by family members and friends which show more of his personal life.

The documentary film will also feature interviews of Reeve's many children such as Matthew Exton Reeve, Alexandra Reeve Givens, and Will Reeve. The film may also show interactions between Christopher Reeve and other big names in the Hollywood industry at the time, like Robin Williams.

When And Where Can I Watch 'Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story'?

For now, there are only two North American theatrical release dates for the film, those being September 21st and September 25th. The U.K. also has a theatrical release date set for November 1st. Outside of that, we don't have much confirmation of a worldwide release date yet, but it should be coming sometime later this year.
