Plot Of 'The Apothecary Diaries'

'The Apothecary Diaries' is a historical anime that takes a lot of inspiration from East Asian Countries in the Imperial era. This specific story follows a young girl called Maomao.

Maomao used to live with her father who used to run an apothecary, until she was sold off as a servant to the royal family. Unable to cope with a life of servitude towards loyalty, Maomao tries her best to stand out and do things others are unable to.

Eventually, some of the heirs to the royal throne get sick, and Maomao decides to make it her mission to cure them. Another palace official called Jinshi notices her efforts and promotes her as the medical expert of the palace.

The rest of the anime follows Maomao on her quest to show off her talents and medical expertise to those around her in the royal palace.
