The Netflix Asian YouTube channel just released a teaser for an upcoming semi-autobiographical drama series on one of the most notable figures in the Japanese wrestling scene, Dump Matsumoto. The series is titled 'The Queen Of Villains'.

Plot Details Of The Upcoming Wrestling Drama Series 'The Queen Of Villains'
The drama series will follow the protagonist and professional wrestler Kaoru Matsumoto, also known by her stage name Dump Matsumoto. The series is semi-autobiographical by nature, and as such will go into the wrestler's history and even childhood to show how she became one of the most notorious T.V. villains in Japanese history.
The series will explore all the trials and tribulations the wrestler had to face during her youth and how she managed to make a niche for herself in a highly male-dominated society and profession.
Cast And Crew Behind The Drama 'The Queen Of Villains'
The protagonist, Kaoru Matsumoto, will be portrayed by actress Yuriyan Retriever. She will be joined by Erika Karata, Ayame Goriki, Jun Murakami, Daisuke Kuroda, Takumi Saitoh, Takuma Otoo, Nobuko Sendo, and an additional 24,000 extras.
The series is developed by writer and producer Osamu Suzuki, who alongside directors Kazuya Shiraishi and Katsuhito Mogi will give audiences a real look into the women's wrestling scene in 1980s Japan.

The semi-autobiographical Japanese wrestling drama series will be available to watch exclusively on Netflix from September 19th, 2024 onwards with 5 total episodes.
