Touken Ranbu Kai Prequel Character Trailer

Another character trailer was uploaded just now by the official TOHO Animation YouTube channel for their upcoming prequel film titled 'Touken Ranbu Kai: Douden Chikashi Haberau Monora'. The new character that's being shown off in this trailer is the cool-head swordsman with a serious look on his face, Okurikara, who will be voiced by Makoto Furukawa.

This marks the fifth character trailer out of the six which are part of a daily upload schedule for character trailers for the upcoming prequel film. The schedule was kicked off by the TOHO Animation YouTube channel from August 5th onwards, and four other characters have been revealed so far. Heshikiri Hasebe, who will be voice acted by Shingaki Tarusuke; Tsurumaru Kuninaga, who will be voice acted by Soma Saito; Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, will be voice acted by Takuya Sato; and finally Doudanuki Masakuni, who will be voice acted by Tooru Sakurai.

This is the fifth out of six total character trailers, which means we have at least one more trailer that will be coming in soon.

"Touken Ranbu Kai: Douden Chikashi Haberau Monora" is a prequel film to the anime series "Touken Ranbu Kai: Kyoden Moyuru Honnouji". The series first became available on Crunchyroll from April onwards, and all its 8 episodes are currently available to watch on the streaming site.

A summary of the storyline of this anime series by Crunchyroll reads, "In 2205 A.D., evil forces attack the past, threatening to alter the course of history. The judge calls on four swordsmen, with blades blessed by a Shinto priest, to protect the past and save the future. Loyal to their former master, the demon king Oda Nobunaga, they travel back to the Honnoji Temple where he was murdered. Can they stop evil in its tracks and preserve the past? Only time will tell."

The movie itself will be released in Japan on August 16th and may also be available worldwide sometime after that. The film will be directed by Kazuya Ichikawa, with Kenichi Suemitsu having written the script, Mari Takada providing character designs, and Ryunosuke Kasai having created the soundtrack.
