'Uglies' Netflix Trailer, Release Date, Cast And Crew, Other Details

The official Netflix YouTube channel just recently uploaded a trailer for an upcoming sci-fi drama film titled 'Uglies' that will be hitting the OTT platform sometime next month.
For those that love to absorb the lore of dystopian sci-fi dramas, or those that are just interested in what looks to be a very interesting watch, here are a couple details that you should know about this upcoming drama film.
Plot Details Of The Dystopian Sci-Fi Film 'Uglies'
The story of 'Uglies' is actually based on a book by Scott Westerfeld with the same title. The film will follow the story of the protagonist, Tally Youngblood, a young girl who is about to turn 16. In the society that she lives in, turning 16 is a big event for many young people, as it is also the day that everyone is given free plastic surgery so that they may look however they wish to look.
The theory behind this is that if everyone looks exactly the way that they want to look, then everyone will be confident. If everyone's confident, no one will have doubt or shame, and it'll resolve most of the world's conflicts automatically.
Unfortunately for Tally, right as she's about to realize her dream of becoming pretty through plastic surgery, one of her friends goes missing. When she decides to go find her, she realizes that everything she knew her entire life may have been a big lie.
Cast And Crew Behind The Film 'Uglies'
The film will be directed by Joseph McGinty Nichol, also known professionally as McG. Scott Westerfield, the original author of the story, will be acting as executive producer, but he's not the only one.
Joey King, who will be acting as the female lead Tally Youngblood, will also be taking on the role of executive producer as she has had a long history with the book and its story. Joining her in the list of cast members will be Keith Powers, Chase Stokes, Brianne Tju, Jan Luis Castellanos, Charmin Lee, and Laverne Cox.
When And Where Can I Watch 'Uglies'
Uglies will be exclusively available to watch on the OTT platform, Netflix from September 13th, 2024 onwards.
