Emmy Award Nominations...

The Emmy Award Nominations were formally announced on February 8th 2006. Biggest takers were 'The Young&The Restless' with eighteen nominations (none of the big ones though). Next in line was the Ellen DeGeneres Show with entry into the competition on eleven counts. In the category of Outstanding Talk Show, she will be up against 'Live with Regis&Kelly', 'Dr Phil' and 'The View'. Series 'As The World Turns', 'General Hospital', 'Guiding Light' will battle it out for Outstanding Drama Series along with 'The Young&The Restless'. Going through troubled times, Martha Stewart bagged two nominations for Outstanding Service Show for her show 'Martha magazine Show' and the Best Service Show Host Award.

All tribute will be paid to Carol Spinney. He is the man behind the Sesame Street characters, Big Bird and Oscar and will receive a lifetime achievement award during this year's ceremony. The Emmy awards ceremony will be held at the prestigious Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. This will be the thirty third Emmy Awards ceremony.
