Washington (ANI): Actress Ashley Judd has signed on to star in drama "Helen" for Egoli Tossell Film and Insight Film Studios. Sandra Nettelbeck will write as well as direct the film, shooting of which is set to begin on Oct. 2 in Vancouver, reports Variety. Helen" is a story based on music professor and mother who suffer from an unbearable depression. No one relates to her depression except a female student who knows depression all too well.

Judd, who was last seen in the Lionsgate thriller "Bug," will next appear in the Weinstein Co. ensemble drama "Crossing Over".
