classic

Wonderful
Life'
has
been
voted
as
the
best
Christmas
film
ever,
according
to
a
new
poll.
The
film,
starring
James
Stewart
and
Donna
Reed,
earned
the
top
spot
in
the
HMV
poll,
beating
competition
from
'The
Snowman'
at
the
second
and
'Home
Alone'
at
the
third
position.
HMV's
Charles
Fotheringham,
said
'It's
A
Wonderful
Life'
has
all
the
attributes
of
being
the
definitive
Christmas
film.
"I
guess
it
comes
as
no
surprise
that
It's
A
Wonderful
Life
should
have
topped
the
poll
so
convincingly
-
it
has
all
the
attributes
of
being
the
definitive
Christmas
film,
showing
that
the
good
in
all
of
us
can,
ultimately,
prevail
however
dire
the
circumstances," The
Sun
quoted
Fotheringham,
as
saying.
"The
film
is
a
perennial
best
seller
for
us
-
showing
its
timeless
appeal
to
different
generations
of
movie
fans,"
he
added.
'The
Muppet
Christmas
Carol'
finished
fourth
on
the
list.
The
1994
remake
of
'Miracle
On
34th
Street',
grabbed
the
fifth
position,
with
its
original
version
made
in
1947
coming
10th.
