Washington (ANI): Brad Pitt insists that his charity work is not the result of his relationship with partner Angelina Jolie. The 'Ocean"s Thirteen" star insists that the reason he is so involved in charity work is because he is a member of the human race. "That's idiotic! I do it because I'm a member of the human race," Usmagazine quoted him, as saying.

"In Africa you see people on the street dying from AIDS, children left without parents. We're all cells of one body, with the same emotions and desires for our families--for a little dignity and a chance for a better life. "Let's focus on that! I believe in the founding principles of America. I want to fight for that. I know most Americans feel the same way." He also said that doing his bit, he wanted to help 'level the playing field" where inequality was concerned.

"Whoever said all men are born equal never left his own backyard. I see people everywhere without opportunity. I want to help level the playing field," he said.
