London,(ANI):
Actress
Drew
Barrymore
says
her
teenage
breakdown
was
the
best
thing
that
ever
happened
to
her.
Barrymore
made
her
film
debut
at
the
age
of
5
in
'Altered
States" in
the
year
of
1980.
She
received
a
Golden
Globe
nomination
for
Best
Supporting
Actress
in
1984
for
her
role
in
'Irreconcilable
Differences".
In
the
wake
of
the
sudden
stardom,
she
endured
a
notoriously
troubled
childhood.
She
was
a
regular
at
the
famed
Studio
54
club
when
she
was
a
little
girl
and
had
started
boozing
at
the
age
of
nine
and
took
cocaine
at
the
age
of
12
for
the
first
time.
She
was
in
a
rehab
at
age
13
and
a
second
time
at
14
because
of
her
addiction
to
boozing
and
snorting
cocaine.
However,
Barrymore
insists
that
the
early
phase
of
her
life
taught
her
many
valuable
lessons
because
of
which
she
doesn"t
things
for
granted
anymore.
“It
led
me
to
where
I
am.
I
don"t
take
things
for
granted,"
the
Sun
quoted
her,
as
saying.
Barrymore
later
described
this
period
of
her
life
in
her
1990
autobiography,
'Little
Girl
Lost".
