James Brolin in Dallas remake

Melbourne (ANI): Actor James Brolin has signed on to star in the big-screen re-make of the hit 1980s television drama 'Dallas." According to CinemaBlend.com, Brolin will play the role of Jock Ewing, which was played by Jim Davis in the series, reports Moviehole. Others stars in the film include 'Friday Night Lights" Minka Kelly playing Pamela Ewing, “Rambo" co-star Julie Benz who"s up for Sue Ellen Ewing.

Also included in the cast are legendary actress Diane Ladd, who will play Ms.Ellie and John Travolta, who will play J.R. Ewing. The film, to be directed by Betty Thomas, is expected to begin production in mid-October this year.

Filming is due to start in January 2008
