JJ Abram's new supernatural thriller

By Super Admin

Washington (ANI): Paramount Pictures has gained a pitch for an untitled supernatural thriller that will be produced by J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions. The project was pitched to Abrams by "Maria Full of Grace" filmmaker Josh Marston, who will write and direct the impending flick, reports Variety. Details on the pitch were being kept under wraps, as is usual with Abrams.

Only a year into a five year deal with Paramount, Bad Robot has silently set up at least seven projects, encompassing the comedy, romantic comedy, horror and supernatural genres. One of these seven pictures will be the tentatively titled "Cloverfield," revealed Abrams'.

The reasonably budgeted disaster pic, that will hit the theatres on Jan. 18, is directed by Matt Reeves and written by Drew Goddard, based on an idea by Abrams. Meanwhile Abrams will begin directing "Star Trek" on Nov. 5. The movie, which will release on Christmas Day 2008, has been scripted and exec produced by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.
